FAM #5 - Food, Fun & History on the way to New Orleans

Experience the Alabama to New Orleans route that so many tour companies include in a Nashville to New Orleans fly- drive on this Alabama FAM.

You will start by arriving in Huntsville on Tuesday Dec 1st in time for an evening welcome gathering. The next day, start the FAM as you blast off with a mini-Space Camp experience. Other stops in north Alabama include Muscle Shoals, “The Hit Recording Capital of the World”, to tour the studio where Aretha Franklin became the Queen of Soul (as showcased in the movie RESPECT). On your way to Montgomery, you will stop for an underground visit at Rickwood Caverns State Park with 260-million-year-old limestone formations, blind cave fish, and an underground pool. In Montgomery, you can walk the most historical short street in America (seen in SELMA and JUST MERCY movies) where Hank Williams, Jefferson Davis, Rosa Parks and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. made history. When you arrive in Mobile you will join our other Alabama FAM as you explore one of the oldest cities in America, eat seafood and see the city where Mardi Gras started in America.
