Tennessee Whiskey
“Smooth as Tennessee Whiskey” isn’t just a song lyric, it’s a way of life in a state known world-wide for Jack Daniel’s. Nashville claims its own piece of the Tennessee Whiskey story, and this tour will include stops at two of the local distilleries making a name for themselves in the whiskey world. One hundred and five years after Prohibition forced the closure of one of the nation’s most prolific whiskey producers, two young descendants of its pioneering founder have thrown open the doors to their revived Nelson’s Green Brier Distillery. Nelson brothers Andy and Charlie, known for the award-winning Belle Meade Bourbon, greet the public with drinkable spirits and tours of their very own distillery as they launch the second wave of their historic family venture. Corsair Distillery launched in early 2010 and was awarded “Craft Distillery of the Year” and “Innovator of the Year” by Whisky Magazine just two short years later. Their original Nashville location has expanded to include high gravity beer within their malt whiskey program, so this tour will explore a grain to glass story for both. Spend the rest of the afternoon exploring Marathon Village, a creative community of unique retail, business and entertainment and home to Antique Archaeology.
