This poignant experience includes Africatown Heritage House’s Clotilda: The Exhibition. Here, oral and written history, alongside artifacts, tells the heartbreaking story of the 110 African passengers aboard the last known slave ship to enter the United States. The extraordinary people who survived enslavement, founded a town of free people called Africatown.
