- Hotel Thoroughbred – Opening in April 2026 in Paris, Kentucky, Hotel Thoroughbred will introduce a boutique nineteen-room hotel in downtown Paris, bringing new life to a thoughtfully restored 1891 building. The renovation highlights original architectural details, including historic columns and metalwork uncovered during restoration, complemented by design elements that nod to Kentucky’s deep horse country roots. A newly unveiled mural on the building’s exterior by celebrated equine artist Jaime Corum further anchors the property in local racing heritage, honoring one of the sport’s most iconic Kentucky Derby moments.
- The Aldenberg Hotel – The Aldenberg Hotel is a luxury boutique hotel in downtown Versailles, Kentucky, set in the historic 1852 Woodford Bank and Trust building. Recently opened after a multimillion-dollar renovation, it offers 29 uniquely designed guest rooms blending historic charm with modern comfort. On-site amenities include Silk’s Steakhouse, an upscale restaurant, and plans for a craft bourbon distillery and rooftop bar. The hotel celebrates Kentucky’s equine and bourbon heritage and sits in the heart of the Bluegrass region.
- The Trail Hotel – This revamped 1970s roadside Holiday Inn offers a bourbon-centric experience with 95 rooms, five bars, a steakhouse, and a unique “Bourbon Butler” concierge service. Designed with a mid-century modern aesthetic, the hotel aims to enhance the visitor experience by providing convenient and immersive access to the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. It serves as a central hub for guests exploring the region’s many distilleries. The hotel opened in May 2025 in Bardstown.
- Hotel Bourré Bonne – Now open on Whiskey Row in Louisville, this stylish hotel offers 168 rooms, a rooftop bar with city views, and a ground-floor steakhouse. Its prime location puts guests steps away from bourbon distilleries and downtown attractions, making it a perfect spot to experience the heart of Louisville.
- The Ashbrook Hotel – This hotel which opened in late 2024 in downtown Frankfort, merges elegance and tradition in a symphony of modern, southern charm. Known by many as “The Queen on the Corner,” The Ashbrook Hotel is a historic mansion set upon a picturesque avenue on the edge of downtown Frankfort in what was once the father of the modern bourbon industry, Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr.’s home. The onsite restaurant showcases elevated southern flare with Bourbon Trail-inspired dishes.
- The Delegate Hotel – Nestled in downtown Frankfort, The Delegate, which debuted in late 2024, provides a decidedly off-the-bourbon trail-vibe for refined quests. This boutique hotel is designed for both business and leisure. The onsite high-end steakhouse, Cypress & Oak , featuring a curated bourbon list and private dining space, marries traditional elegance with modern sophistication.
Kentucky State Parks Renovations
- Kentucky State Park Improvement – Kentucky State Parks has begun major renovations to several of parks and resorts. These improvements will take place throughout 2026. The status on individual facilities can be tracked on the Kentucky State Park website.
- Carter Caves State Resort Park – The resort park has undergone a $3.8 million redesign of its entire campground, part of a larger statewide investment in parks. The revitalized campground will reopen with upgraded utilities, a new camp store, and an all-new bathhouse, enhancing the guest experience for one of Kentucky’s most beloved outdoor destinations. The campground is scheduled to reopen in Spring 2026. Carter Caves State Resort Park boasts an array of accommodations and activities, including cave tours, rappelling and rock climbing, gem mining, hiking, paddling, playgrounds, a swimming pool, tennis courts and more.
- Lake Cumberland State Resort Park – The park is undergoing a $7.4 million project to refresh finishes and furnishings throughout the lodge and guest rooms, enhance public gathering spaces, and modernize systems within the conference center to better accommodate meetings, retreats and group travel. Rolling reopenings will take place through late 2026. Overlooking more than 60,000 acres of water and 1,200 miles of shoreline, Lake Cumberland State Resort Park offers year-round recreation including boating, fishing, swimming, hiking, disc golf and miniature golf, along with cabin rentals, camping and an indoor pool complex at the lodge.
- Jenny Wiley State Resort Park – Reopening Summer 2026. Following a $5.5 million investment, Jenny Wiley State Resort Park’s 49-room May Lodge is undergoing a full renovation, enhancing dining areas, meeting spaces and guest accommodations. Nestled among towering pines and the peaceful mountains of Eastern Kentucky, the lodge offers a secluded retreat within the park’s natural setting and is slated to reopen in summer 2026. The park also debuted a new $1.45 million archery center in fall 2025 .
