Mark Jaronski serves as Chief Marketing Officer for the Georgia Department of Economic Development. In this role, he oversees the planning, development, and execution of GDEcD’s marketing and communications initiatives across all divisions and industries. He leads a team that promotes Georgia as a premier destination for business and travel through research, branding, digital marketing, public and media relations, and statewide tourism relations.

Alongside GDEcD’s Statewide Tourism Director, Mark co-leads the Georgia Tourism Foundation Board of Directors representing various segments of the state’s tourism industry. In collaboration with GDEcD and Explore Georgia, the Board supports innovative and entrepreneurial strategies designed to enhance Georgia’s position in the global travel marketplace.

Mark joined GDEcD as Deputy Commissioner of Tourism in 2020. A tourism industry and marketing leader for nearly 30 years, he has worked on iconic travel brands and destinations. Immediately prior to joining GDEcD, he served as CEO of Select Registry Distinguished Inns of North America. Mark is also a veteran of The Walt Disney Company, where he served in a variety of roles over a 16-year career with the company, including Brand Manager of Walt Disney World theme parks and Director of External Communications for Disney Parks Worldwide.

His experience also includes roles as Vice President of Global Communications for Visit Orlando; Chairman of the U.S. Travel Association’s Communications Advisory Committee; and Board Member for the U.S. Travel Association, U.S. Civil Rights Trail Marketing Alliance, Travel South, and Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau.

Mark earned his bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of South Florida and his MBA from the University of Florida. He and his wife Nancy have four children and reside at Lake Oconee in Greensboro, Georgia.
