Getting Close to Nature
Camping options have definitely evolved over time. You no longer have to “rough it” to sleep in nature, although you certainly still can. Arkansas has numerous destinations and fun choices for experiencing the magic of temporarily living outside.
For example, luxury bell tents are available for rental in Northwest Arkansas through White Tail Tents(link is external). The company creates an environment that makes camping more accessible and more convenient for all levels of adventurers by providing weatherproof tents, high-end bedding, tables and chairs, bug spray and card games, coolers, cooking setups, coffee, s’mores and more. They even bring the items to you at your location of choice – be it your backyard or favorite campsite.
Other glorified camping options in The Natural State include renting yurts and teepees with all the amenities. You can find them at private venues as well as Arkansas State Parks(link is external), which also rent camper cabins. These cabins are a bit like a hotel room, but with no running water or bathrooms and you have to bring your own linens.
Thirty-two Arkansas state parks feature campsites. Additionally, there are more than 200 public-owned campgrounds in Arkansas offering nearly 9,400 campsites.
So whether you’re living the van life, pitching a tent, or glamping, there’s a spot for you. Sites are located in scenic settings showcasing the natural beauty and geological diversity of Arkansas. You’ll find great campsites on top of mountains, the shores of lakes and rivers and many other terrific spots – all offering recreation, adventure, rejuvenation, and solitude.
