Lowcountry Nature Tour Kiawah Island
Begin the morning at the International African American Museum (IAAM). The museum documents the journey that began in Africa centuries ago, and still continues today. At our entrance, the African Ancestors Memorial Garden sprawls across the grounds and reflects on the significance of the historically sacred
site of Gadsden’s Wharf—where alongside several others in the Charleston Harbor—an estimated 40% of African captives entered this country. Inside, exhibitions tell the dynamic story of the international African American experience.
The group will then board our custom-built eco-tour boat as we search Kiawah’s inlets, creeks and marshes for Atlantic Bottlenose Dolphin. Learn more about their habits and behaviors, and the marsh ecosystem as a whole. Also includes a tour of Kiawah Island Golf Resort. Hosted lunch at The Sanctuary, SC’s only Forbes Five-Star Hotel.
